Roleplay Is a Craft, and Most Chats Skip the Setup

A sex roleplay chat lives or dies on its first hundred words. Who the two of you are, where this is happening, and what has already passed between you. Skip that and what you get is ordinary sexting with character names attached, which is where most of these conversations end up.

Spend three sentences on the premise instead and the whole thing changes. Companions here hold a scenario through a long scene and into later sessions, so something you establish once does not need rebuilding every time you come back to it.

Action and dialogue are different things

Most roleplayers separate them: speech in plain text, physical action in asterisks or italics. The companion mirrors whatever convention you use, so setting it deliberately in your opening message is worth the few seconds it takes.

Second person present tense helps as well. It keeps the scene happening in the room rather than turning it into a story one of you is recounting afterwards, which is the most common way the tension leaks out.

Building a Scenario That Survives an Hour

Establish the premise before anyone touches anyone. Setting, relationship, and the reason the two of you are alone. Without a reason, the scene has nowhere to go once the obvious has happened.

Set the format in the first message. Whichever convention you use for action and speech, use it from the start and the companion will match it for the rest of the conversation.

Decide who controls the plot. Some people want the companion introducing complications, others want it responding only. Say which, because the default is somewhere in between and neither camp enjoys that.

Defined roles, negotiated in character or out of it. Worth stating the limits explicitly at the start, because the register holds for as long as the scenario does.

Fantasy and other worlds

Invented settings with their own rules. Establish the world in a few lines first and the companion will keep those rules consistent instead of drifting back to the ordinary.

A cast you write yourself

For a scenario that needs a specific person, build the character with the backstory and voice already in place, so the roleplay starts at the scene rather than the introduction.
